The family behind Study Work

Built for our daughter

In her first term, Christina's marks — and her confidence — were slipping. I couldn't remember school maths, I'd learnt it in a different language, and the textbook was at school. So over the holidays, Christina and I built the first version of Study Work together, and her brother Alexandro tested it with us.

One term later, her teacher emailed us — unprompted — about her transformed confidence. Her friends use it now, and they tell her how much they enjoy it. My wife Vicky, a teacher, reviews every session's content before a child sees it.

And the four companions? They're modelled on the four of us. Study Work is our family, in app form.

Where we are today

Honest about today, ambitious about next week

Study Work is currently aligned to CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement, South Africa's national curriculum) for grade 5, in English — and we're expanding week by week: grade by grade, subject by subject, language by language, with Afrikaans next.

Questions about your school, your curriculum, or your grade? Please ask me — I'd genuinely love to hear from you, and your school might be next.

Talk to me

I answer my own phone

We're small, and that's a feature: you talk directly to the person who builds Study Work. Call or WhatsApp me — about your child, your school, sponsorships, or just to say hello.
